Slate on W21st
Walked in to a fairly high end bar on W21st St a few days ago call Slate for a friend's Birthday. There really isn't too much that separates this bar from the rest except for the high prices and the waitresses in black mini dresses. Spatially, Two floors (Cellar & First) makes up this establishment.
The first floor contains 3 main spaces, the coat check, the bar, and the lounge/ dance area.
The Cellar contains a pool hall, a bar and a lounge/dining area. They also have one ping pong table.
The walls and ceiling are covered with black paint and tiles making both levels extremely dark.
Lighting is used to highlight the bar and the pool tables but does not add anything special to the overall space...

First Snow Day of 2012.
I've never seen the subway station this pretty. I love how Snow enhances space by reflecting and refracting light. But most importantly, it reminds me that the Holidays are just around the corner.

JFK Terminal 1
Came here today to pick someone special up and 'darn!' I came 45 min early. But this gave me a chance to admire how amazing the structure and space here was at Terminal 1. The designer definitely did something right by placing the food court area on a mezzanine over looking the check-in area as well as the beautiful outside runway... I've always loved airports. There's rarely any other places in the world where so many different cultures collide on an everyday bases.
