I welcome my new friend, 'CNC Cloud'

I just recently finished building my own diy cnc router. A cnc (computer numerical controlled) router is a computer controlled cutting machine using a router. It's basically a laser cutter but instead of a laser it uses a router to cut (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Tm-AMQpgEOw&feature=related). Whatever it is, it's 100% awesomeness. It took a lot of time and money but it was worth it at the end. I've named it 'Cloud' since my head is always in the clouds. I'm currently in the process of testing it and waiting for some new routing bits to arrive in the mail. If you're interested in making one, contact me asap cause it's not as easy as it seems. Below are some resources that I used.

Little Space Shop's Tokyo Gas Competition Entry

Hi everyone,

So I recently entered into a competition and I just wanted to upload the entry on to the blog and let everyone take a look. My concept was pulling a function to modern green walls and by doing so create new ways to layout a city  as well as the lifestyle we would have.

Line House

I wanted to celebrate lines. It's very unusual for people to see everything in the world. But unfortunately, sometimes, we miss even the most simplest thing. With this idea in mind, I decided to take a simple line and used it to define 2 buildings. I came up with this idea while I was in the subway.

In 10 years.

As the creator of little space shop I feel as though I haven't introduced myself at all. My experience my background and what my goal is for 'Little Space Shop'.

I'm not an idealistic designer. I'm not an aesthetic designer. But instead, I fix problems. My experience and background includes over 7 years in the field of architecture and within these 7 years, I've worked in 5 different architecture firms. However, visual language and what most people define as 'architecture'' is not what I fine important. But instead, it's the way that people live and how we will live in the future that interests me. I also have an extensive background in product design. I lived in London for 3 years studying product design. I find that products continuously defines and redefines the way that we live. They have a direct link to our lives that architecture cannot reach.

Between the 2 fields, I find what I do. Improving the way that we live. Even though society finds these fields well defined. I still believe that they are extremely abstract. There's room to create and innovate. In 10 years, I hope that 'Little Space Shop' does just that create and innovate.

Sincerely,
CY

Environmental Space Designers.

Dear friend,

Little Space Shop is constantly changing, introducing and reintroducing new variables into the subject of design.
With the ever changing the notion of space, it's difficult to understand how architects still hold the prestige in which they are bestowed. People change and certainly, our environment changes and with such, so should the field of architecture. Little Space Shop have now moved into the field of environmental design. We have now committed ourselves to recreating this world into a more environmentally friendly place by transforming ourselves into environmental space designers. Our current specialties are environmental building design, environmental interior/space design, as well as natural product design. By switching towards this direction, we are not changing the way in which we are conceptualizing our ideas but instead we are stating our commitment towards preserving and revitalizing the world in which we all live in. We will still continue to search for simple and innovative ideas that'll improve our everyday lives, however, we just decided to do it in a responsible way.

Sincerely,
LS

New Years, New Projects, New Dreams.

Dear Friends,
It seems like yesterday it was 2010, actually it was! HAPPY NEW YEARS!
However, what's the point of new years without new years resolutions.
Here are my top 10 resolutions that I hope to achieve.

1. Forget about everything that happened in 2010.
I figured, with the economy, idiotic politicians, the unemployment rate, high foreclosures, etc,
there are definitely many people and things that wants to and should be forgotten.
I guess the main message is to 'LETS MOVE FORWARD'.

2. Be more fun!
In the year 2011, there'll be more and more projects so therefore, in order to create a better
and happy future, my projects and my designs should continue to be fun and happy. They should
always put a smile on someone's face.

3. Be with that someone special.
I have a special someone that I care about a lot. However, due to some circumstances, we
are not together right now. But I want the world to know that this year's going to be different.
Something will definitely happen.

Well, those are my resolutions. If there are anybody out there tell me what your resolutions are.

Sincerely,
LS
